GPT-6 puts charts and forms in ChatGPT, but check your plan
GPT-6 Sol began rolling out to paid plans on 7 October, but OpenAI's own pages disagree on whether Free and Go users get GPT-6 Luna or the older GPT-5.6 Luna.

If you use ChatGPT every day to draft reports, compare suppliers or check figures, GPT-6 may change what comes back: charts, forms and buttons to click, instead of paragraphs you can paste straight away.
OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT on 7 October 2026, starting with the paid Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans worldwide. It comes with a feature the company calls Intelligent UI, a new kind of answer you can click and use inside the chat, according to the company's announcement, also published in Thai.
The free plan and the low-cost Go plan would start getting it from the next day, the company said. But OpenAI's own pages disagree on whether those two plans get GPT-6 or the older model.
After reading, you will know which plan gets what, how the screen at work will change, and what to check before choosing between Go and Plus.
Paid plans get GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go are unclear
On paid plans, GPT-6 replaces "Latest" in the model menu. Which version you get depends on your plan:
- Plus: GPT-6 Sol, with the Medium and High thinking levels.
- Pro, Business and Enterprise: GPT-6 Sol, plus the Extra High level and the Pro option, which runs on a separate model called GPT-6 Astra.
- Free and Go: the announcement says GPT-6 Luna, but the help page still says GPT-5.6 Luna, the older model.
- Admins: in Business and Enterprise, they may control which models staff can use.
OpenAI's announcement and its 7 October ChatGPT release notes agree that Free and Go use GPT-6 Luna, and say both Sol and Luna are tuned for everyday conversation. But OpenAI's help pages say something different.
The article GPT-6 and other models in ChatGPT, updated after the announcement, said on 22 October that GPT-6 is rolling out only to eligible Pro, Plus, Enterprise and Business users. Free and Go get GPT-5.6 Luna, it says, which also runs the Think button for harder questions.
OpenAI's page on the Go plan also says Think on Go uses GPT-5.6 Luna, and its Free tier FAQ, updated around 20 October, says free users have GPT-5.6 Luna.
Put simply, the announcement says GPT-6, but the help pages updated later still say the older model. So Free and Go users should not assume their account has GPT-6 yet.
GPT-6 reached some paying customers before this release. GPT-6 Astra started reaching a limited set of organisations on 3 September 2026, and GPT-6 Sol and Luna arrived in Work and Codex on 22 September, the release notes show. The models behind Work and Codex did not change this time.
Answers arrive as charts, forms and buttons in the chat
The look of the answers is what staff will notice first, and many Thai organisations already use AI. In a 2026 survey by NECTEC, 53.7% of 574 Thai organisations had adopted AI, which SV News compared with two other surveys.
One Intelligent UI response can mix graphics, buttons, forms, charts and tools that work inside the chat. OpenAI's examples include side-by-side comparisons, interactive diagrams, a savings calculator and a bill splitter.
No special prompt is needed, and ChatGPT can still reply in plain text when that works better, the help article says. For offices, three things are worth knowing:
- Older apps: Intelligent UI is rolling out on the web and in updated apps, but the older ChatGPT apps for macOS and Windows do not support it, and OpenAI recommends the browser instead.
- Limits: the feature has no separate quota; existing model, tool and plan allowances apply.
- Fewer visuals: you can switch off Layout and visuals in Settings on the web, but OpenAI warns some elements may still appear, so it is not a text-only mode.
The last point matters for anyone who pastes answers into reports or forwards them on LINE. Enterprise customers may also see the old model menu until the new options reach their workspace.
OpenAI says GPT-6 starts answering 44% sooner
These figures are OpenAI's own. The company says GPT-6 can start answering before it has finished thinking, and that for questions needing a web search, GPT-6 Instant starts 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant, by its own measure.
OpenAI also says more than 1.2 billion people use ChatGPT each week, against the 800 million that chief executive Sam Altman announced at its DevDay conference in October 2025, TechCrunch reported. That is about 400 million more in roughly a year.
Go and Plus differ on both the model and ads
ChatGPT Go has been on sale in Thailand since October 2025, two months after its debut in India. That month OpenAI took Go to 16 more Asian countries and let users in Thailand and four other countries pay in local currency, TechCrunch reported at the time.
Today OpenAI's multi-currency billing page says subscriptions bought on chatgpt.com can be paid in baht. The Go page gives no price and says prices may change.
Ads differ too. On 23 September 2026 OpenAI said ChatGPT ads were starting to roll out in Thailand and six other Asian markets, shown only on Free and Go, while Plus, Pro and Enterprise have no ads. The Go page still says OpenAI may start testing ads in Go.
For a small business deciding which plan to use, here is how they compare:
- Free: unlimited everyday text chats, a Luna model, and part of the ad rollout.
- Go: unlimited text chats too, but higher limits for image generation, file uploads and data analysis, a Luna model, and part of the ad rollout.
- Plus: GPT-6 Sol with the Medium and High thinking levels, and no ads.
OpenAI has not said when the rollout to free users will be complete. The page to watch is its GPT-6 help article: once it says Free and Go get GPT-6 Luna, it will match the company's announcement.
FAQ
Do free ChatGPT users have GPT-6 yet?
OpenAI's 7 October announcement and release notes say the rollout to Free and Go, using GPT-6 Luna, would start on 8 October. But its GPT-6 help article and Free tier FAQ, as of 22 October 2026, still say GPT-5.6 Luna, so free users should not assume they have GPT-6 yet.
Which model do paid plans get?
Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise get GPT-6 Sol as it rolls out to eligible accounts. Pro, Business and Enterprise can also choose the Pro option, which runs on GPT-6 Astra and does not support Intelligent UI.
Can staff turn off the new visual answers?
Not completely. On the web, switching off Layout and visuals in Settings reduces visual elements, but OpenAI says some may still appear.
Can Thai users pay for ChatGPT in baht?
Yes, on chatgpt.com: OpenAI's billing page lists the Thai baht. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are charged in local currency through Apple or Google. Go has been payable in baht since it went on sale in Thailand in October 2025.
