Register for Thailand's free AI Passport by 30 November

You need the Thang Rath or ThaID app and a Google, Microsoft or Apple account. But free does not mean unlimited, and you should not type personal data into the chat.

If you have wondered whether a monthly AI subscription is worth paying for, Thais aged 15 and over can now try more than 30 AI models for free in one place. People who register by 30 November 2026 start at the top tier for their first 30 days.

The way in is TH-AI Passport, a Ministry of Digital Economy and Society programme that opened a platform called AiPASS from 31 August 2026 to 31 August 2027. It has 5 million places, and it costs nothing for those who qualify.

Plenty of people are interested. Relevant Audience reported that advance registrations passed 1.3 million in under two weeks after opening on 19 August 2026, against 5 million places in total.

One app holds models from more than 14 providers

AiPASS is a central platform, and it does not hand out accounts with each provider.

The AiPASS site names providers such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Mistral AI and Pathumma ThaiLLM, a Thai-language model, for more than 30 models in total. They cover chat, research, images and video, MGR Online reported.

This matters. The Thaiger explained that the programme does not give you a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro account to use on those companies' own sites. You use these models through AiPASS, under the programme's credits and quotas only.

If you do not know which model to start with, a test by Marketing Oops helps for image work. It tried 5 models on 5 marketing tasks and found GPT-Image 2.0 the most consistent, while two Seedream versions got Thai text wrong. But this was one try per prompt, not a full benchmark.

You can register in 4 steps

Have the Thang Rath or ThaID app and a Google, Microsoft or Apple account ready first.

  1. Go to the site: use aipass.go.th or the AiPASS app, and avoid Incognito or Private mode, because MGR Online said to use a standard browser.
  2. Create an account: sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple.
  3. Read the terms: read the agreement and the privacy policy before you accept.
  4. Verify your identity: use Thang Rath or ThaID, then fill in the details.

The place is for you alone. The Thaiger said no one else may use it for you, or it may be suspended or cancelled. If you get stuck, the helpline is 02-021-0300, 24 hours a day.

It is free, but credits and points apply

The first 30 days are when you get the most.

The AiPASS site says people who register by 30 November 2026 get the top tier for their first 30 days of use. After that you need at least 100 points a month to stay there. That means learning and completing tasks as you go, rather than signing up and coasting.

The Thaiger gave an example of the Creator tier's quota as 10,000 credits a day, and Daily News reported more than 96 courses, with a digital certificate for each lesson completed. Conditions can change, so check the numbers on the site again.

The programme has critics too. The Nation reported in June 2026 that it costs 1.6 billion baht, and that Aat Pisanwanich, an academic in international economics, sees it as raising user numbers more than understanding. To get real value, it makes sense to take the courses as well.

Do not type personal data into the chat

This is what to read before you accept.

  • Your messages leave the platform: AiPASS's privacy notice says messages and files go to the model provider you pick, such as OpenAI, Google, Microsoft or Anthropic, and data may be sent abroad.
  • One year of storage: chat data is kept for 1 year from the chat date, and account data for the life of the account plus 3 years after you stop using it.
  • Training: AiPASS sets providers not to train models on your data wherever each provider allows that setting, and uses anonymised data to develop a National LLM.
  • What to leave out: your ID card number, phone number, health details or sensitive data about you or anyone else, because the system that hides such data only works as far as it can.

Pick one job and try it before 30 November

To find out whether this tool is worth it, pick one real job you do every week, such as drafting emails or making a shop menu, and try it on 2 or 3 models in your first 30 days. You will learn which suits your work before you decide to pay for any service.

FAQ

Who can register?

Does it cost anything?

The AiPASS site says registering and using it costs nothing for those who qualify, but use is subject to credits and quotas by tier.
