Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada cut seller fees for 6 months
Selling fees went up at least three times this year. Now they will fall for a while, but only for small shops that are registered, and not for electronics.

Online shops have seen their selling fees raised at least three times this year. The good news is that from 1 December 2026, Shopee, TikTok Shop and Lazada will cut those fees for half a year. But not every shop qualifies.
Thailand's Commerce Ministry announced on 28 October 2026 that the three platforms agreed to roll their mandatory fees, which sellers call GP, back to the rates in place on 1 January 2026, from 1 December 2026 to 31 May 2027. The ministry expects the cut to save sellers about 1,930 million baht in total, according to Post Today.
Suphajee Suthumpun, deputy prime minister and commerce minister, said "we don't want either side to suffer," since sellers and platforms are part of the same system, Nation TV reported.
How much the fees fall
The new rates vary by platform, type of shop and product category, Nation TV reported.
- Shopee: from 8.03 to 19.26% down to 8.03 to 13.91%
- TikTok Shop: from 13.38 to 21.94% down to 11.24 to 17.66%
- Lazada: from 9.00 to 17.50% down to 7.50 to 11.60%
The percentages look small, but picture a shop that sells 100,000 baht a month: every 1% cut in fees puts 1,000 baht back in the shop. Even so, the ranges do not mean every shop gets the same cut, Spacebar noted.
Which shops qualify
The measure is for small sellers. Individuals must have annual sales of no more than 1.8 million baht, and companies no more than 3.5 million baht. About 1.2 million such shops sell on the three platforms, 1.02 million individuals and 180,000 companies. Every product category is covered except electronics.
Shops also have to be registered under the rules. Individuals can register with the Department of Local Administration, the Department of Business Development or a provincial commerce office, or with their district office in Bangkok. Companies register through the Department of Business Development or a provincial commerce office, Post Today reported.
Only the mandatory fee is cut
The cut covers only the mandatory fee the parties agreed on. Shops that pay for other platform services should check each platform's notice to see which charges stay the same.
Earlier, the Trade Competition Commission asked six e-commerce platforms to freeze their fees for six months, from 27 August 2026 to 27 February 2027. Meanwhile, the Commerce Ministry has asked ETDA to draft a digital platform economy law built on transparency, fairness and competition, according to The Nation.
Before 1 December, check three things
The cut runs from 1 December 2026 to 31 May 2027. Before then, ask yourself:
- Are your annual sales no more than 1.8 million baht as an individual, or 3.5 million baht as a company?
- Is your shop registered under the rules yet?
- Are most of your products electronics, which are not covered?
